In 2025, Love As Fiction Records and Big Heavy Stuff will be releasing the newly mixed and mastered (by Wayne Connolly) Covered In Bruises release in a now expanded format with new and unreleased tracks/versions of songs.

As a preview, the Birthday/ Hibernate '97 double single includes the newly mixed version of Birthday and an earlier version of Hibernate recorded in 1997, there will also be two additional tracks previously unavailable elsewhere - Voodoo Dolly (Single Edit) and instrumental Max Crawl.

The new mix of Birthday also has guests Peter Milton Walsh (The Apartments/Go-Betweens) with his reinstated counter vocal snarl and Nick Craft from Sidewinder with his wailing guitar solo outro. These elements were originally recorded but not used in the previous mix and release of the song. 

The single CD is only available online at Love As Fiction Records and limited copies will be available in person at Redeye Records Sydney on Record Store Day (12 April 2025).

Birthday (2025 Mix) and Hibernate '97 will also be available as digital tracks on Bandcamp and streaming services.
